ST600s | Err.08, what does this message mean, what can be done?

If the display of the frequency inverter shows the error message Err.08 appears, it is overvoltage during braking.

Causes:

• A fault has occurred in the input voltage.
• Strong energy feedback.
• Missing brake units.
• The dynamic brake is not activated.

Solutions:

• Check the input power.
• Check whether the braking time P00.12 is too short or whether the motor starts when turning.
• Build in dynamic braking units.
• Check the setting of the corresponding function codes P08.37 and P08.38.
