ST500 | Connection of a PT100 temperature sensor
It is also possible to connect a PT100 temperature sensor to an ST500 frequency converter. This is a good way to protect your motor from overheating and thus get a longer service life.
A PT100 motor temperature sensor can be connected to terminals S1, S2 and GND. One pole of the sensor is connected to terminal S1 and the other to terminals S2 and GND.
Below is a diagram of the terminal block. The terminals S1 and S2 are located at the front right, the terminal GND at the top right and additionally as a terminal bracket behind DI2.
Now you can make settings for your sensor and the behaviour of the inverter in parameters F8.33 ~ F8.35. The most important parameter is F8.33, which must be set to 1 for the sensor to be activated at all.
Important: This function is only available if you have a frequency inverter with software version C3.00 or higher.
